1. Who We Are

Career Club ("Career Club", "we", "us", or "our") is a job hunt management platform operated by its founder and owner, based in Lisbon, Portugal. The service is available at careerclub.cc and its subdomains.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Career Club (the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via in-app notice. Continued use of the Service following any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Career Club. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the full legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under 18, you may not use this Service.

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use by individual job seekers. Use of the Service on behalf of a company, recruiter, or staffing agency requires our prior written consent.

4. Account Registration

To access the full features of Career Club, you must register an account using a valid email address. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account, including any sign-in codes sent to your email
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorised access to or use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

Each account is for the sole use of one individual. You may not share, sell, transfer, or grant access to your account to any other person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are being shared or misused.

5. Subscription Plans and Pricing

Career Club offers the following plans:

5.1 Free Tier

The free tier allows you to use Career Club at no charge with access to all features, including unlimited job applications, CVs, covering letters, job tracking, contacts, and community. There are no numerical limits on what you can create or track.

However, free tier users cannot download, export, or save documents to external formats — specifically, CV and covering letter PDF export is not available on the free tier. All other in-app functionality is fully available.

The free tier is provided at our discretion and we reserve the right to modify its scope at any time with reasonable notice to existing users.

5.2 Pro Tier — Features

All Pro plans (regardless of billing period) give identical full access to Career Club, including:

  • Unlimited job applications
  • Unlimited CVs and CV designs
  • Unlimited covering letters
  • AI writing assistance
  • All current and future features included in the plan

5.3 Pro Billing Options

Career Club offers the following billing options for the Pro tier. All options provide identical features — the only difference is price and duration:

  • Monthly — €10/month: Renews automatically each month. Cancel any time before your next renewal date.
  • 3 months — €25: One-time payment. Does not auto-renew. Reverts to free tier at expiry.
  • Annual — €75/year: One-time payment for 12 months. Does not auto-renew. Reverts to free tier at expiry.
  • Lifetime — €175: See Section 5.5.

5.4 Annual Subscription — €75 for 12 months

The Annual plan provides twelve months of full access to all Career Club features at a total price of €75 (equivalent to €6.25 per month — a saving of €45 compared to twelve monthly subscriptions).

The Annual plan is a one-time payment covering a fixed 12-month term. It does not automatically renew. At the end of the Annual period, your account will revert to the free tier unless you renew or subscribe to another paid plan.

5.5 Lifetime Access — €175 one-time payment

The Lifetime plan provides permanent, unlimited access to Career Club for a single one-time payment of €175. Lifetime access means you will never be billed again and your subscription will not expire for as long as Career Club operates as a service.

The Lifetime plan includes all features currently available in paid plans, as well as all future features added to the platform. The Lifetime plan confers a Lifetime Pro membership designation.

The Lifetime plan is non-refundable once access has been granted, except as required by applicable consumer protection law (see Section 18).

Service continuity: In the event that Career Club is permanently discontinued, Lifetime members will be given reasonable advance notice and a pro-rata refund will be considered at our discretion, having regard to the time elapsed since purchase.

5.6 Promo Codes

We may issue promotional codes that grant temporary or permanent subscription benefits. Promo codes are non-transferable, may only be used once per account, and are subject to any additional terms stated at the time of issue. We reserve the right to revoke promo codes that we believe have been obtained fraudulently or used in violation of these Terms.

5.7 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our subscription prices at any time. We will give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice of any price increase. If you do not cancel your subscription before the price change takes effect, your continued use of the Service will constitute acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Payment and Billing

Payments are processed through our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your selected payment method on the applicable billing cycle. You are responsible for ensuring your payment details are current and valid.

All prices are quoted in Euros (€) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes where required by law. If you are located in the EU, VAT may be applied at the rate applicable in your country of residence.

We will provide you with a receipt or invoice for each payment made. Failed payments may result in suspension of your subscription until the outstanding amount is paid.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

7.1 Monthly Subscription

You may cancel your Monthly subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date. We do not offer refunds for the unused portion of a monthly subscription period.

7.2 Pro Membership

The Pro membership is a one-time payment for a fixed 3-month term and is not automatically renewable. Due to the discounted nature of this product, Pro memberships are generally non-refundable once the service has been accessed.

7.3 EU and UK 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription contract within 14 days of purchase (the "cooling-off period") without giving a reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Important: By starting to use Career Club's paid features immediately after subscribing, you expressly request that the service begins before the end of the 14-day cooling-off period. In doing so, you acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. If the service has not been fully performed, you may exercise your right to withdraw but will be liable for a proportional payment for the service provided up to the point of withdrawal.

7.4 Other Refund Requests

Outside of statutory rights, refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. We are not obliged to provide refunds where a subscription has been used.

8. Fair Use Policy

Career Club's paid plans are described as "unlimited" in terms of the number of CVs, applications, and covering letters you may create. This means there are no hard numerical caps for legitimate personal use. However, the following fair use terms apply to all accounts.

Summary: "Unlimited" means unlimited for real job seeking — one person, using the platform normally. It does not mean unlimited automated, bulk, or commercial use.

8.1 Permitted Use

You may use Career Club to:

  • Create, store, and manage CVs, covering letters, and job applications for your own personal job search
  • Use AI-assisted writing features to draft and refine your career documents
  • Track job applications, contacts, and interview progress for your own benefit

8.2 Prohibited or Restricted Use

You may not:

  • Use the Service via automated scripts, bots, or any form of automation to generate documents or perform actions at scale
  • Generate CVs, covering letters, or other documents on behalf of third parties for commercial gain, resale, or professional services
  • Create bulk or mass applications without genuine intent to apply for the roles
  • Use the AI features to generate deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent career content (e.g., fabricated qualifications or employment history)
  • Circumvent, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access any portion of the Service beyond what is provided through the normal interface
  • Share, resell, or provide access to your account to any other person or organisation

8.3 Monitoring and Enforcement

We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns to identify activity that is inconsistent with normal personal use. Where we reasonably determine that an account is being used in violation of this Fair Use Policy, we may:

  • Throttle or restrict access to certain features
  • Suspend the account with notice and an opportunity to respond
  • Terminate the account if violations continue or are sufficiently serious

In the case of termination for fair use violations, refunds will not generally be provided. We will always seek to give notice and an opportunity to respond before taking action, except in cases of serious or irreversible violations.

8.4 AI Feature Usage

AI writing features are provided for personal, reasonable use in the context of your job search. Unusually high volumes of AI requests in a short period (e.g., generating hundreds of documents per day) may be subject to temporary rate limiting to ensure fair access for all users.

9. Your Content and Data

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to Career Club, including your career profile, CVs, covering letters, job application data, and any other personal information you enter ("Your Content").

By using Career Club, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content and will not use it for any purpose other than delivering the Service.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of Your Content. You warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect Your Content. However, we strongly recommend you maintain your own backups of important career documents. We are not liable for data loss resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

10. AI-Generated Content

Career Club includes AI-powered writing features to help you draft career documents. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content is a starting point, not a finished product. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated text before using it in any application
  • We make no guarantees as to the accuracy, suitability, or quality of AI-generated content for any particular role or employer
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you submit to employers is accurate, truthful, and represents you fairly. Submitting false or misleading information to employers using our tools is a misuse of the Service
  • AI features may occasionally produce content that is inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate. You should not rely on AI-generated content without your own review

11. Intellectual Property

Career Club and all associated technology, design, branding, software, text, graphics, and other content (excluding Your Content) are the intellectual property of Career Club and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any part of the Service without our prior written permission. The Career Club name, logo, and brand elements may not be used without our express authorisation.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you other than the limited licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of Career Club is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data, and sets out your rights in relation to that data.

Career Club processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data protection laws.

If you are a resident of the EU or UK, you have rights including the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

13. Third-Party Services

Career Club uses third-party services including, but not limited to:

  • Cloudflare — infrastructure, security, and analytics
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • AI providers — for AI writing features
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics

These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services. By using Career Club, you acknowledge that certain data will be shared with these providers as necessary to deliver the Service.

Career Club may contain links to third-party websites (such as job boards or employer sites). These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over such sites and accept no responsibility for their content, accuracy, or practices.

14. Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you will not use Career Club to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute any malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, our servers, or any other system
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person
  • Engage in any activity that places an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have engaged in any prohibited conduct.

15. Service Availability and Disclaimers

Career Club is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free at all times
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected
  • Using Career Club will result in job interviews, employment offers, or any other specific outcome
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, suitable, or appropriate for your specific circumstances

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including maintenance, upgrades, or business decisions. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime or significant changes.

Important: Career Club is a productivity tool. It does not guarantee employment outcomes. Any decisions you make regarding your career — including which jobs to apply for, what information to include in your applications, and whether to accept any offer — are entirely your own responsibility.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Career Club and its operators, employees, contractors, and licensors shall not be liable for any:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or opportunities
  • Loss of goodwill or reputation
  • Damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated content
  • Damages arising from the acts or omissions of third-party service providers
  • Damages resulting from events outside our reasonable control (force majeure)

Whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In any event, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) €50, or (b) the total amount you paid to Career Club in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Career Club and its operators, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
  • Your Content, including any claim that it infringes any third-party rights
  • Any misuse of AI-generated content, including submitting false information to employers
  • Any violation of applicable law by you

18. Consumer Rights

18.1 European Union and United Kingdom

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and your statutory rights, your statutory rights prevail.

18.2 Australia

If you are a consumer in Australia, you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. For major failures with the Service, you are entitled to a remedy. For minor failures, we may offer a repair or refund at our discretion.

18.3 United States — California

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details of how to exercise those rights.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.

In the event of a dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we can try to resolve the matter informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal, except where mandatory local consumer protection law provides otherwise. EU consumers may also make use of the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

20. General Provisions

20.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Career Club relating to your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.

20.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

20.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision in the future.

20.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

20.5 Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes outside our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemic, government actions, internet outages, or failure of third-party services.

20.6 Language

These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only. In the event of a conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
